Kara M. Mitchell

Kara Mitchell is an author/illustrator who grew up in a small town in Oklahoma where everyone knew everyone else, all rooting for the same team, and everything was a little faded and rusty. Making people laugh is her favorite thing, so playful colors, the nuances of neighbors, and a good joke influence her most when telling stories. Her illustration work has been featured in Cricket Magazine and published by Chronicle Books. Kara is a member of the Cherokee Nation. She lives in Oklahoma City, where she is a booster club mom, and chases after two boys, a husband, and a mutt of a dog.
