George Hamilton

George Hamilton is an artist and illustrator living in the Charlottesville, VA, area. His illustrations focus on pen and ink with watercolor highlights. George’s formal art training was at the Tam O' Shanter Art School associated with the Carnegie Museum in Pittsburgh, PA. George recently completed the illustrations for a new book, American Ramble, expected to be published in March 2023 (Mariner Books).

In developing an illustration project, George seeks to work closely with the author to capture the essence of a story or to reinforce the writer’s message in sketches. His focus is on adult subjects and his work is most often derived from photographs taken by the author.
